8 young people and 3 leaders spent 2 days at Teach Lorcáin, Glendalough on the weekend of August 11 th for a Time Out weekend. The purpose of the trip was to have a weekend where people could relax, chat and chill out in a peaceful and scenic environment. Over the course of the weekend we enjoyed a long walk around the lakes of Glendalough, climbing a mountain for as far as we could until tiredness and hunger set in!! When we got back from the walk we went for a meal to satisfy the famished hikers. The serenity and peace of the weekend was broken somewhat when we watched a scary DVD which had people screaming and jumping from seats with the fright! Another highlight from the weekend included an impromptu singing session where everybody had a turn to sing and contribute their own verse to an improvised song. A good weekend was had by all, and our goal was achieved in the sense that everybody had a nice relaxed weekend in the countryside, free from the normal hustle and bustle.
