Tullow Youth Project @ The Bishops House

Hi Y’all,

My name is Jamie. I’ve been working in the wonderful Carlow Regional Youth Services since January ’07. I’m working in Tullow, in the Tullow Youth Project @ The Bishops House and everything is going great.

Decorating the office space

The Tullow Youth Project in The Bishops House has been running for 14 years by a committee of local volunteers who aimed to establish a safe place for young people to hang out. Over the years the committee have been working hard at doing so. Two years ago the committee invited the local School Completion Programme onto the committee to work on setting up a strong youth work provision in the town and a full time youth worker. Carlow Regional Youth Services sent out a youth worker on an interim bases. ME!

Up to date I have been involved in a number of cool projects with The Bishops Houses Staff, committee, and Tullow SCP. Recently the committee have invited CANDO, Forward Steps Resource Centre, YPFSF, and CRYS onto the committee.

The Tullow Youth Project has 3 groups running in the house.
